Arkintel develops and operates AI software from its headquarters at YES!Delft. Our work spans a complete AI office suite, private organisational workspaces and citizen-facing systems, with deployments designed around each organisation’s operational and regulatory boundaries.
The founders have built software together since 2016, beginning with the fintech platform Arkmon. Applied AI became the company’s focus in 2023, and the Arkintel name followed in 2024. That background matters: we approach AI as production software engineering, not as a layer added after the fact.

03the work
We started taking on AI projects for municipalities including Delft, Rotterdam and Den Bosch, and that work did two things at once. It funded our growth, and it taught us what a sovereign office suite actually needs to be. Most of what we know about this we learned from civil servants, not from a roadmap.
DelftGPT is the clearest example. It didn’t begin as a product; it began as a conversation that went back and forth for months. Civil servants brought us their real problems: the reports that ate their afternoons, the documents no one could find, the meetings nobody had time to write up. We designed for them. Those solutions accreted into DelftGPT: a private assistant, document search and transcription, all running on the municipality’s own hardware, inside their own building.
Transcription became the quiet favourite. Instead of recording meetings and writing minutes by hand, it produces speaker-labelled transcripts and drafts the reports, giving people back hours they used to lose to admin.

A separate assistant for each subsidy scheme, so a resident can describe their situation in plain language (“I need a new roof, is there any support?”) and be pointed to what they are entitled to.
The same idea across the city’s schemes: residents find what they qualify for without needing the vocabulary of the people who wrote the rules.
An anonymous debt-help platform for residents. Debt is hard to raise in person, so we built it to ask nothing of people and keep what they do share where it belongs.

04tu delft
The project closest to home was for our own university. JustAskMomo was a set of AI course assistants we built for TU Delft, grounded in the lectures, readings and materials of nearly every course in Aerospace Engineering, our own faculty. Students could ask a course its own questions and get answers rooted in that course’s material.
It got used heavily, much of it late at night in the run-up to exams, and the thank-you messages are still some of the nicest we’ve had. We offered it free, and when the funding for a wider rollout wasn’t there we had to switch it off. We were sorry to. The retrieval and grounding work behind it went straight into the product.

what sovereign AI means to us
An organisation should be able to determine where its software runs, where its data is processed, which models it depends on and how it can leave. Sovereignty is the technical and contractual ability to make those decisions independently.

Motions called for less government dependence on US cloud providers, credible exit strategies and greater consideration of European alternatives in procurement.
For public institutions and regulated organisations, data location alone is not enough. Control also depends on identity, network boundaries, model routing, auditability, portability and the ability to continue operating when a supplier or policy changes.
Arkintel translates those requirements into deployable software. The same product can run in a managed European environment, a private cloud, an organisation’s own data centre or a fully disconnected network.
Sovereign AI should be a practical operating model, not a policy aspiration. We build the software and deployment architecture required to put it into production.

Tristan Somé and Maximilian Sachs met while studying Aerospace Engineering at Delft University of Technology. They have built software together since 2016—first in fintech, and since 2023 in applied AI and sovereign enterprise software.
